If you are a parent who gets relocated often, especially if you are in the military, adapting can be a challenge for school-aged kids as well as for teachers assigned to their classes. The new environment may be stressful as they try to adjust to the new neighbourhood, school & culture. Kidzmet has a profiling programme for each child to ascertain your child’s personality type and learning style to help teachers understand their needs before the move. Through the Pairing Portrait, your kid will get profiled & MentorMatch will pair him/her with intuitively suitable teachers in local extracurricular activities who are uniquely qualified to groom & blossom your kid’s inner talents.
Why is profiling necessary? Imagine if your introverted child is put in a class of boisterous & extroverted kids or your spontaneous, hyper-active kid being grouped into a class with a teacher who thrives on law & order. By understanding your child’s momentum, strengths, skills & challenges, you can better match teachers to him/her BEFORE the first day of school. Putting your child in extra curricular activities that are not compatible with his personality will be a headache for you if your child is not enthusiastic about attending. These essential activities give kids a head start to discover their inner strengths that can turn into careers! One classic example is how my dad sent me for swimming training 5 days a week consecutively for 7 years, going through one coach after another & eventually introducing me to swimming in the ocean. My quest for adventure began when I participated in a swim across the Straits of Malacca on 1st May 1992, from Pulau Rupat off Dumai, Sumatra in Indonesia back to Port Dickson in Negeri Sembilan of Malaysia. I was the youngest swimmer in the team of 24. From there, the navy salvage divers accompanying our group became friends & introduced me to the world of scuba diving in 1993 when I was still in my teens. I am an Instructor Trainer now as I haven’t rested since I made history.
We didn’t have profiling for kids then, but it would have been great if there was. Even if you need to relocate while serving in the military, it’s a lot more easier of a transition now, if teachers could help your kids develop their true potential & worth to grow up to a calling that they are deserving of.
